It all began in 2014 when Peter Celinski, the founder of Milo went on a ski trip to Whistler with his family. His children are advanced skiers and chose moguls that were a bit more challenging. Throughout the trip Peter needed to communicate, either by shouting or walkie-talkies but nothing could help ease the conversations. At that moment, Peter thought there had to be a better way… which inspired Milo.
After nearly three years of stealth development with a team of diverse veteran innovators in the wireless networking, voice and audio industries, Milo launched on Kickstarter in October 2020. The launch sparked interest from all around the world. After only 1 month Milo had over 5,700 backers, making it the #5 all time hardware campaign on Kickstarter.
We are a team of designers, engineers, scientists and builders. Together, we have over 200 years of experience creating technologies and products for some of the most loved tech brands on the planet. In the past, we’ve built comms systems, networked hi-fi equipment, neural-network chips, voice assistants, video games, avionics, wearables, networking protocols and the earliest Wi-Fi speaker system. We have come together and have spent more than three years designing, building and testing the core Milo software, hardware and complete design.
